TaxPleader Research Pvt. Ltd. ("TaxPleader", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect information we receive from users of the TaxPleader platform (the "Platform"), accessible at taxpleader.in.
By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Account registration: Name, email address, and password when you create a professional profile.
- Professional profile: Designation, enrollment number, city, state, years of experience, expertise areas, bio, LinkedIn URL, and firm association.
- Firm profile: Firm name, type, location, contact details, practice areas, and any description you submit.
- Newsletter subscription: Email address.
- Contact form: Name, email address, and message content.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent, and referring URLs when you access the Platform.
- Cookies: Session cookies for authentication and preference cookies for your browsing choices. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
- Search queries: Keywords and filters used in Platform searches, to improve search quality. These are not linked to your identity unless you are logged in.
3. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your professional account and profile.
- To display your professional profile to other users of the Platform where you have chosen to make it visible.
- To send you the newsletter if you have subscribed, and transactional emails related to your account.
- To improve the Platform — including search quality, content coverage, and user experience — using aggregated and anonymised usage data.
- To investigate and respond to contact form submissions.
- To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
- To comply with our legal obligations under Indian law, including the Information Technology Act 2000 and applicable rules.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing purposes.
4. Data sharing
We may share your information with:
- Service providers: Hosting, database, and email delivery providers who process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect it.
- Other users (profile data only): Your professional profile — name, designation, city, expertise areas, bio, and firm association — is visible to other logged-in users unless you set your profile to private.
- Legal requirements: Law enforcement or regulatory bodies if required by a valid legal process or to protect the rights and safety of TaxPleader and its users.
5. Data retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business interest (e.g., billing records, abuse prevention logs).
Newsletter subscribers are retained until they unsubscribe. You may unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter email.
6. Data security
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, hashed password storage, access controls, and regular security reviews.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data via your profile settings or by contacting us.
- Delete your account and associated personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Withdraw consent for newsletter communications at any time by clicking "Unsubscribe" in any email.
- Object to processing in certain circumstances.

8. Cookies
We use the following types of cookies:
- Strictly necessary: Session cookies required for authentication and platform security. These cannot be disabled without impairing platform functionality.
- Preference: Cookies that remember your display preferences. You may disable these in your browser settings.
- Analytics: Aggregated, anonymised data about platform usage to improve performance. No personal identifiers are retained.
We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
9. Third-party services
The Platform uses Google Fonts for typography, loaded from Google's CDN. Google may collect limited telemetry from this request in accordance with their own privacy policy. No user-identifiable data is transmitted to Google as part of Platform usage.
10. Children's privacy
TaxPleader is a professional platform intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from persons under 18 years of age. If you believe a minor has provided personal data to us, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be notified to registered users by email and announced on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
