Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the TaxPleader platform ("Platform") operated by TaxPleader Research Pvt. Ltd. ("TaxPleader", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Use of the Platform

2.1 Permitted use. You may access and use the Platform for lawful purposes, including legal research, professional development, and information gathering relevant to Indian tax law practice.

2.2 Prohibited conduct. You may not:

  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Platform without written permission from TaxPleader.
  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable Indian law or regulation.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your professional credentials.
  • Upload, post, or transmit any content that is defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, or infringes any intellectual property right.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform, its servers, or associated systems.
  • Resell or commercially exploit Platform content without a separate written licensing agreement.

3. Professional profiles and firm pages

3.1 Accuracy of profile information. When creating a professional profile or firm page, you represent and warrant that all information you submit is accurate, complete, and current. You are solely responsible for keeping your profile information up to date.

3.2 Verification. TaxPleader may, at its discretion, verify credentials before granting a "Verified" badge. Verified status does not constitute an endorsement of the individual's or firm's services.

3.3 Claiming a firm. By submitting a firm claim request, you represent that you have a genuine professional association with the firm. False or misleading claim requests may result in account suspension.

3.4 Profile visibility. Approved professional profiles are visible to other registered users. By creating a profile, you consent to this visibility. You may request profile deactivation at any time.

4. Intellectual property

4.1 TaxPleader content. All original content on the Platform — including judgment summaries, editorial analyses, circular digests, and software code — is owned by or licensed to TaxPleader and is protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, republish, or commercially exploit this content without written permission.

4.2 Third-party source material. Court judgments, government circulars, and gazette notifications are public domain documents of the Government of India. TaxPleader's summaries and editorial annotations of such materials are original works owned by TaxPleader.

4.3 User content. By submitting content to the Platform (including profile information, bios, and firm descriptions), you grant TaxPleader a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and distribute that content as part of the Platform.

5. Accounts and security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@taxpleader.in if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

TaxPleader reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent conduct, or remain inactive for an extended period after notice.

6. Subscriptions and payments

Certain features of the Platform may require a paid subscription. Subscription terms, pricing, and renewal policies will be displayed at the point of purchase. All payments are processed securely. We do not store credit card details on our servers.

Subscriptions are non-refundable unless required by applicable Indian consumer protection law or unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. TaxPleader does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaxPleader's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to TaxPleader in the 12 months preceding the claim, or ₹5,000 (whichever is lower). TaxPleader shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind.

9. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be first submitted to good-faith mediation. If mediation fails, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra.
